Rental

It is the policy of the organisation that all residents applying for independent living unit accommodation (be it rental or ‘Equity’) are to be aged or disabled and at least semi-retired and require supportive accommodation facilities.

There are currently 30 flats for rent: providing independent living styles for single occupancy. All rental units have been recently refurbished and provide self-contained accommodation comprising a single bedroom, lounge, kitchenette, shower / toilet and laundry.

Furnishing of the flat is the responsibility of the tenant.

Rental fees are reviewed by the Board of Governance annually.  Tenants are notified in writing prior to any price increase and fee increases are relative to CPI increases and industry standards. The rents include all maintenance of building (exteriors and interiors), council rates, water rates, sewage rates, insurance on building and Longridge equipment and fittings and all grounds (except private gardens).

Rents are due fortnightly: drawn electronically from the tenant’s nominated account.

Rent assistance may be available through Centrelink or Veteran’s Affairs.

Residents are encouraged to maintain their own private insurance for contents etc.

Electricity connection and costs are the responsibility of the tenant.

Phone connection and costs are the responsibility of the tenant.

Extra improvements to the unit are made following PRIOR APPROVAL in writing from Longridge management (CEO or Business Manager) and at the cost of the unit ‘occupier.’
